Walk on the Water Faith Church began as a dream in 1992 when God planted the idea of a new church inside Dr. Larry Ollison. In this dream, he was at a church overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as people were coming by car and by boat – lives were being dramatically changed. He and Loretta had no idea that Larry, himself, would be the pastor of the church. At the time, that was not their desire!

Larry had been actively ministering through Larry Ollison Ministries for many years. In the fall of 1993, he proposed two new outreach programs to his board of directors – a radio program called The Cutting Edge, and a Bible study in Osage Beach. The Cutting Edge started airing on Spirit FM Radio Network early in 1994. The first Bible study met Thursday, February 3, 1994 at Inn at Grand Glaize. The plan was for the Bible study to last four weeks. But God’s plans were greater!         

The group soon began meeting on Sunday mornings at Marina Bay (which no longer exists). Walk on the Water Faith Church family was born the first Sunday in June 1994, and rapidly grew out of its surroundings. The church body then moved to Main Street Music Hall in March of 1995. By this time, Pastor Larry and Loretta had accepted their calling as “pastors.”

Pastor Larry spent much time praying about a permanent home for Walk on the Water Faith Church. In May of 1997, Pastor approached Lake Community Church (LCC) about the possibility of leasing their building for our weekly church services. LCC not only agreed to the proposal, but also asked Pastor Larry to be their interim pastor.

WOW had another new beginning. On the first Sunday of June 1997, WOW held its first services in the new, permanent location. Each week Pastor Larry preached a traditional service for the members of LCC at 9:00 am and a second service for WOW Faith Church at 10:30 am. After three months, the members of Lake Community Church decided to merge with the WOW Church family, and the two churches became one.

Soon the church was bulging at the seams and a new building adding adult and childrens classrooms, the Lighthouse Bookstore, a fellowship hall, and office space was built.

The dream of Walk on the Water Faith Church is very much alive. Lives are being dramatically changed and the Word of God is being taught around the world from Walk on the Water Faith Church.
