Debt is Deadly

Mark 11:24 says that in order to receive, we must first believe. As Word of Faith people, we know this is true. The principles of the Kingdom tell us that we must call the things that be not as though they are. In order to receive eternal life, we must first believe. Believing comes before receiving.

Debt is a crippling enemy of faith. God’s plan for the believer does not include debt. Debt produces bondage. What is the result of bondage? It is the exact opposite of the result of freedom. Bondage produces stress. Freedom produces peace.

In Galatians 3:13 the Word tells us that Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law. The curse, as described in Deuteronomy 28, is death, sickness & disease, and poverty. Jesus is our propitiation (substitute). He died so that we wouldn’t have to. He took on sickness & disease so we wouldn’t have to. And He took on poverty so we wouldn’t have to. To walk in debt is to walk absent from the fullness of redemption.

In Hosea 4:6 God said His people perish for a lack of knowledge. Although this scripture is specifically referring to the Hebrew nation, the principle still applies to us. We must understand and come to the revelation knowledge that prosperity and freedom is God’s plan and not poverty and debt.

The only thing that keeps a person from receiving eternal life is not believing that Jesus died for their sins. Unbelief kept the people of Nazareth from receiving great miracles. I believe the main reason people are walking in debt is because they do not believe it is possible to be debt-free, because they believe debt is an unavoidable part of life.

Last night Loretta and I watched a nationally known minister on worldwide TV teach an excellent message. But in his message he said that everyone will always have a house payment and everyone will always have a car payment. He went on to say that although God wants us debt-free, in our society, we know that it is relatively impossible.

The truth is this. Jesus said, "If you can believe, all things are possible, to him that believes." In many churches across the nation, good Christian people die prematurely because pastors teach their flocks that healing is not for today. Many years ago, I was one of those pastors. However, today I teach healing and physical deliverance from sickness and disease. My belief system changed because of the revelation of the Word of God.

We have a responsibility in these last days to walk in total redemption. We are Full Gospel people. We believe in life, healing, and prosperity and stand against death, sickness, and debt. Life and The Blessing, death and the curse have been placed before us. Choose life.
